Context
A critical energy infrastructure operator in the middle of its digital transformation. With a structured SOC, CyberArk PAM and Splunk SIEM already in place, the goal was to harden privileged access across a hybrid environment.
Challenges
- High PAM and SIEM ticket volume, with limited formalization of incident handling.
- Privileged access sprawl. Accounts were not fully rationalized in CyberArk, which widened the attack surface.
- SIEM alert fatigue. Non-actionable Splunk noise slowed down investigations.
What we did
- Structured triage and escalation. We formalized incident analysis and coordination between the security office, infrastructure and application teams.
- PAM rationalization and SIEM tuning. We reviewed privileged accounts, removed non-actionable alerts and improved the signal-to-noise ratio.
- Stronger operational rigor. We reinforced the SOC framework and PAM compliance.
Results
- 15–20% smaller privileged account footprint
- 25–30% fewer non-actionable SIEM alerts
- 20–25% faster ticket resolution
